WHAT IS BULLYING?
- Bullying is when a person or a group of people are mean and hurtful towards someone. It can be a once off or repeatedly.
- It can occur anywhere; at school, work, sport clubs, on the bus, online, when you are out with friends or even at home.
- There are different types of bullying such as; verbal, physical, social and cyberbullying.

WHY DO PEOPLE BULLY?
- Sometimes the person who bullies is because they have been bullied at home.
- They feel angry inside and take it out on others around them.
- They bully so they can feel better about themselves.
- They want to fit in with their friends and want others to like them.
- They are jealous.
- They like to have control over others.
- Sometimes they don’t realise they are being bullies.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE BEING BULLIED?
- Stay safe and keep away from the bullying.
- Do not let them intimidate you, show that you do not care.
- Speak up and tell them “this is not okay!”
- Ask for support from a friend, family member, teacher, counsellor.
- Report the bullying, because if you don’t nothing can be done to put a stop to it.
- Do not blame yourself, it’s not your fault.
